here's my contribution to gallery 1988's upcoming poster show, "the greatest moments in sports history". the event is co-hosted by the awesome OMG posters and features a killer lineup of artists/designers and printmakers paying homage to their favorite sports teams/stars/moments throughout ages.

when i was invited to participate, it didn't take me long to decide to illustrate my beloved notre dame's famous four horsemen backfield. the print itself is a bit of a big deal to me, as it's my first silkscreened poster. the poster is 18" x 24" and is limited to an edition of 40. you'll have to see it in person to appreciate the quality of the job, but take my word that D&L screenprinting literally knocked it outta the park. can't wait to work with them again.

show opening
thursday, march 4th
7-10 pm

ND alum here. Outstanding job on this piece! It immediately reminded me of some of the bold, beautiful artwork on game programs in the 1930s. The program covers for the ND/Army games at Yankee Stadium during that time were breathtaking--and your work has that very same feel. I feel bad for not being able to attain one of the 40 prints, but I'll keep my eyes peeled on Ebay.

Awesome! Keep me posted!

Ooh, you don't come out to the shows do you. Or you did
that one time? If you ever have another and want me to
go check it out, let me know! I'll take pics.

HAHA...well..yeah the SC peeps are pretty obnoxious. But
I love their film school so I'll get over it. The cool thing
is this is huge Red Sox country here. I walk down the street
with a Sox hat and people yell out windows and stop their car for you lol.

Awesome work Tom!
