DISCLAIMER: i am not a nazi. i am not a nazi sympathizer. i do not deny that the holocaust happened. i do not admire adolf hitler in an way, shape or form. in fact, i agree with 99.999% of the population that hitler was a massive, colossal, galactus-sized gigantic a-hole-jerk.

ahem. now, with that out of the way...

this piece is was an assignment from the fine folks at gallery 1988 for their upcoming "SMart: a smodcast art show" based on scenes from kevin smith and scott mosier's uber-popular SModcast podcast. kevin will be pimping his new book of transcripts from the show, "shootin' the sh*t with kevin smith" at the gallery while artist renditions of ridiculous scenes from said tome adorn the walls.

my assignment: to illustrate a conversation between kevin and scott where they riff on the many convoluted origins of santa claus. the conversation eventually takes a bizarre turn, steering them toward creating a new television channel that blurs the line between fact and fiction. one of the fictitious stories on said station? "the lost legend of hitler claus." and what better way for me to illustrate such a prickly topic than in that old rankin/bass-heartwarming-holiday-special style.

and if i were you i would not write the "DISCLAIMER" because everything we see on tv/movie/books about Hitler and others are 80% made up.
