hello dA'ers!

as 2009 comes to a rapid close and i begin to turn my focus to 2010, i'm tinkering with the idea of putting out an artbook. now, you may say to yourself "why the hell should i care?" or "whoop-dee freakin-doo", or "good luck, poindexter."

well, that's the idea.

i'm floating that idea out there to gauge interest. i'd probably have to charge in the $25-$30 range for a 7"x7" 30 page book with shipping included. i'm thinking of printing the book through blurb.com, so i'm also looking for feedback if anyone has used them before.

again, this is just a thought at this point. schedule, funds and interest will dictate if it happens. that being said, i'm open to any and all comments.

hit me.
  • Listening to: skeletonwitch: beyond the permafrost
  • Reading: walking dead: trade 10
  • Watching: masters of the universe: season one

sold. i am concerned about the soft cover curl up... but maybe I'll just make a slipcase for it.

I've heard good things about Blurb, even though I haven't seen actual printed product from them. I'll be looking forward to your art book, when it's ready!

I would definitely buy a book featuring your work. I also agree with *operative274's comment about a signed version. Whether you hit the Con circuit or not, I'd be willing to pay extra for a signed copy.

I've tried Blurb!!! :D And I'm starting to sell my art book next year!! :D I went for 7"x 7", soft cover, 40 pgs.
The application is really simple to use so there shouldn't be much problem.
The book quality is good too. The colors are all close to what I see on my computer. However, I've only 1 complain about the soft cover. When it gets delivered to you, it looks flat and nice and glossy!! :D After you left it on your table overnight, the cover will start to curl up. I don't know why, but maybe is the paper material. My friend described it as the particles in the paper are finally free from being wrapped up for so long so they're spreading and causing this. ;P
Hope this helps. :)
